Artist Statement

I paint the subject or scens which I feel compelled to do at the time. I enjoy trying new surfaces and mediums. Pastel is a favorite. Amoving sky, a special garden, a certain face and beautiful flowers all inspire me. Garden portraits and the sky are my favorite subjects.

I have taught art for many years at many different locations around Maryland and continue to teach at my home studio where I have a wonderful view of the sky.

Art leads to many directions and I recommend it for a relaxed mind. So many artists are painting today that it is a joy to look at their work on websites and to be part of the energy created. I feel that one must attend art shows and museums to appreciate the art and paintings themselves.
